LGBTQ OB-GYN Care, By People Who Get It
OB-GYN-style care from a certified nurse-midwife and women's health nurse practitioner whose entire practice is reproductive and gynecologic health — with the time, trust, and honest conversation a 15-minute physician visit can't match.
We're a queer-owned practice serving the DC metro area. Annual exams, gender-affirming hormone therapy, IUDs with sedation, PrEP, STI care, and menopause care — without the part where you have to come out three times before anyone listens.

Why Care From Inside the Community Matters
Queer patients spend a lot of energy at the doctor's office that straight, cisgender patients don't have to spend. Reading the room. Pre-screening pronouns and partner language. Bracing for the moment a provider's face changes. Deciding whether to mention the part of your history that matters clinically but might invite a sermon.
Care from someone inside the queer community changes the math. You're not the educator in the room. You're not explaining what your body is for, who you sleep with, or what your transition has looked like. The visit can actually be about your health.
And the clinical model matters too. Nurse-midwifery and women's health nurse practitioner training is built on informed consent, longer visits, and shared decision-making — exactly the things queer patients consistently tell us were missing in their previous OB-GYN care.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Specific things we do (and don't do) that LGBTQ patients have told us actually make the difference.
Pronouns and chosen name on intake
Both go in the chart and on every screen we look at, including the lab portal. You don't have to correct anyone at every visit, and you won't get a portal message addressed to a name that isn't yours.
No assumed anatomy or partners
We ask about the body parts you have and the sex you're having — not what we expect to find. Trans, nonbinary, intersex, and gender-nonconforming patients get care matched to actual anatomy and actual life.
Informed-consent hormone therapy
Estrogen and testosterone initiation and management on the informed-consent model — no gatekeeping letter required, no mental-health hoop to jump through to access care that should be yours to decide on.
PrEP, STI care, and sexual health without judgment
Honest conversations about exposure, testing windows, partner counts, and what you actually do — because that's the only way to get accurate prevention and care. We've heard it before. We're not going to react.
IUDs and procedures with real comfort options
Nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, cervical block, TENS — actual options, not 'take an Ibuprofen.' Especially relevant for trans men, nonbinary patients, and anyone with prior trauma around pelvic exams.
Same provider every time
You build a relationship with one person who knows your history. No retelling it to a rotating cast. No new face for the visit where it actually matters.
