About Us

Robin Tucker (she/they) is a Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife.

Robin is passionate about care of the whole person, and practices a harm reduction philosophy and believes in the HAES philosophy of care. She specializes in sexual/reproductive health care, whole person primary care, trauma informed care, queer and gender affirming care, lifestyle medicine, counseling for and initiating contraceptive methods, and pregnancy options counseling including abortion options counseling, support, referral, and early medication abortion. She operates from a core belief of client informed consent, empowerment, and autonomy with all decisions, large and small.

She grew up with stints in the Washington, DC area and in Louisiana. She worked in the information technology industry for ten years before becoming inspired to change careers. First she earned her AAS degree in Nursing from NVCC and BSN from George Mason, then she completed her MSN in Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health from Frontier Nursing University. She is currently completing her Master of Public Health and Doctorate of Nursing Practice degrees at Johns Hopkins University.

She has been a nurse for eleven years, and has worked in various settings such as ICU medicine at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and Inova, and Labor and Delivery at Medstar Washington Hospital Center and George Washington University Hospital. As a midwife and nurse practitioner, she has worked with the InovaCares Clinic for Women, the United States Navy, and HIPS DC. Ro also educates the next generation of Nurses as a faculty member at Johns Hopkins University, George Washington University, and George Mason University.
